Gerardo Cremona International Award

On November 11, 2015 I had the honor to participate in the first ceremony of the Gerardo Cremona International Award for the Promotion of Translation in the Mediterranean.

This event was attended by the mayor of Toledo, Milagros Toulon accompanied by José María González, Deputy Mayor, Javier Mateos, councilman of Social Services, the mayor of Cremona, Gianluca Galimberti, the president of the Spanish Association of Writers, Carlos Fortea, and the director of the Toledo School of Translators, Luis Miguel Cañada, among others.

This First Gerardo Cremona International Award for the Promotion of Translation in the Mediterranean awarded, at the gala held at the Teatro de Rojas, in the category of Translators of the north shore to Malika Embarek López, translator of more than 60 works from French and Arabic to Spanish; in the category  of Translators of the south shore to Saleh Almani, dedicated to the translation of classics into Arabic, with more hundred of translation; in the category of Institutions from the north shore to the Next Page Foundation and, finally, in the category of Institutions from the south shore to the School of Translators and Interpreters of Beirut.
